What is pelvic floor PT?

A non-surgical approach to rehabilitation of dysfunctions in the pelvis which contribute to bowel, bladder, sexual health, and pain complaints. Approaches may include behavioral strategies, manual therapies, modalities, therapeutic exercise, education, and functional re-training.

Holistic Pelvic Health Evaluation

For anyone wanting to gain a better understanding of the state of their pelvic bowl or those experiencing symptoms.

What the visit entails: 

  • Postural assessment

  • Assessment of the diaphragm, transverse abdominals and pelvic floor

  • Internal pelvic floor assessment  of strength, endurance and function (if consent is given) 

  • Anatomy education of the pelvis/ pelvic bowl 

  • Treatment (based on what is found during evaluation) 


Prenatal Perineal Preparation

Ideal for those 34 weeks + Pregnant

* Partners are welcome to join! 
** Findings can be shared with your Doula ( with your permission) to help aid in your labor/ birthing process

What the visit entails: 

  • Assessment of your pelvic floor muscle function (are you able to contract, relax and lengthen?)

  • Techniques of how to lengthen your pelvic floor muscles 

  • Practicing lengthening your pelvic floor muscles while they are on stretch in various birthing to practice relaxing those tissues during birth

  • A review of the anatomy of the pelvis during birth

  • Techniques of how to push during birth

  • Tips of breathing exercises and dynamic stretches to prepare the pelvic floor for birth

  • Comfort measures


Postpartum Pelvic Health Evaluation

Ideal for those 6+ weeks postpartum

What the visit entails: 

  • Assessment of your the state of your pelvic floor muscles and their function (are you able to contract, relax and lengthen?)

  • Postural Assessment

  • Breathing Assessment

  • Diastasis Recti screen

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse screen

  • Scar assessment/mobilization (for those that have had a Cesarean Birth) 

  • Treatment is based on what is found during the evaluation
